I'm bloody chuffed with this painting I am. I felt like doing something girly again, and I may carry on doing girly paintings now (Though I may compensate by doing Batman again...).
The background was a bit of an experiment. It came out well, but it doesn't look so great on (digital) film. I think I finally got a decent pic, but it's still not as good as it looks in the flesh. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Her hair for example used to have a second eye I lumped paint over.
Your experiments with the background paid off, it looks great.
Yeh, it was very shiney and hard to take a picture of, which is why I put in the extra angles.
The green bit looked to dark in most the pics, which is why I've angled the flash to reflect off the lighter section in the main one.
Did you paint the background first then put the rest over it or did you do the character first then fill in the background around it.
